Your fluffy Friday feel good treat is here!

The pawfect start to any weekend, take a sneak peak of doting Cheetah mum Qailee and her three little cubs venturing out of their den for the first time.

Senior Keeper of Carnivores, Rachel Hemming, and Veterinarian, Jerome Kalvas, shared the adorable vision and pictures of the curious cubs exploring their night quarters, which adjoins the large Cheetah habitat, with mum keeping a close eye.

Qailee’s three cubs, which includes a female who was cross-fostered into the litter in an Australasian first, will stay in and around their den until around three months of age.

Excitingly, another four Cheetah cubs were born to Kuishi at Monarto Safari Park three weeks later with the pawsome foursome doing well and staying snug in the den.

Once all seven cubs are ready to head out into the Monarto Safari Park Cheetah habitat, visitors will be able to see them from the Cheetah platform and on the Zu-loop bus.

Africa’s most endangered big cat, Cheetah are sadly just a spot away from extinction; impacted by habitat loss, human-wildlife conflict and the illegal wildlife trade.

In the last century, the world has lost 90 per cent of the wild cheetah population and it is estimated only 6,000 remain across eastern and south-western Africa.
