Paw-fect names announced for hyena and giraffe

Thank you for voting in our baby naming bonanza!

After receiving 1,624 votes, keeper Tayler was thrilled to announce the winning names.

The young male giraffe calf has been named Makumbo (meaning legs in Shona).

Fahari’s Spotted Hyena cubs are named Thembayo (meaning hopeful in Zulu) and Tufani (meaning hurricane in Swahili).

Kanzi’s Spotted Hyena cubs are named Kicheko (meaning laugh in Swahili) and Utundu (meaning mischief in Swahili).

Each birth is an im-paw-tant step forward in saving the species from extinction. By visiting the park, you can help support this vital conservation work!
