Meet the Meerkat Mob!
Step inside the meerkat habitat and discover the fascinating world of one of nature’s most social species. Join one of our experienced keepers as you observe the mob up close and learn how enrichment encourages their natural behaviours, from foraging and exploring to working together as a family group.
As the meerkats investigate their environment, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of their unique adaptations, social structure and the important role modern zoos play in protecting wildlife.
Please note the minimum age for this experience is 8 years.

Meerkats live in family groups called mobs, which can include up to 30 individuals. Every member has a role, from babysitting pups to standing guard, helping the group survive in the harsh desert environment.
Meerkats have the unique ability to close their ears to keep dirt out while they burrow into the ground.
The patch of dark skin on a meerkat’s stomach acts as sort of a solar panel during the winter months to provide warmth on cool days.
