Help us celebrate our radiant rhinos!
Wednesday 22 September 2021
Monarto Safari Park is home to a crash of six Southern White Rhinos and two male Black Rhinos. Bound in this World Rhino Day to see our amazing crash as part of your Zu-loop bus tour or get even closer and join them for breakfast during a behind-the-scenes Meet the Rhinos experience.
Southern White Rhino Keeper Talk
Hear from our dedicated keepers and learn all about the personalities and quirks of our White Rhino crash, plus how we’re working to save this threatened species from extinction.
The heartbreaking reality is one rhino is killed every six hours. Unless we act now, experts are predicting rhinos will be extinct in the next ten years.
Zoos SA is working with The Australian Rhino Project to bring a rhino sanctuary to life at Monarto that will see up to thirty threatened rhinos relocated from Africa to the park where they will be protected. We also work closely with conservation organisations including Kruger National Park Honorary Rangers and Sera Conservancy in Kenya where we help support nearly 40 rangers and their families as they fight the illegal poaching of dozens of species.
