Monarto Safari Park 63 Monarto Road Monarto, SA 5254 Australia

This full-day professional learning experience is designed for teachers supporting students to explore career pathways in wildlife conservation, science, and environmental industries. Set within Australia’s largest open-range safari park, the session uses Monarto Safari Park as a real-world case study to examine the breadth of roles required to operate a large-scale conservation and tourism organisation.

Led by the Zoos SA education team, teachers will hear directly from staff working across animal care, conservation science, horticulture, education, and corporate services. The day highlights the diverse skills, qualifications, and pathways required to work in contemporary conservation settings, challenging the assumption that careers at a safari park are limited to animal care alone.

Teachers will explore how careers days and authentic industry engagement can support curriculum learning, career education requirements, and student decision-making. Practical strategies will be shared for preparing students prior to a visit, supporting purposeful engagement on the day, and extending learning through reflection and pathway planning back at school.

Price: $40–$45 per teacher
