Learn what it takes to look after our amazing animals

Have you always dreamed of working with animals? Spend an entire day behind the scenes with some of Monarto Safari Park’s dedicated staff and learn what it takes to be a keeper!

Come face-to-face with incredible animals throughout the day and hear about how we’re working to save them from extinction.

Every day is different at Monarto so you never can tell who you’ll be meeting, but how do some incredible carnivores, rhinos, giraffes, adorable native animals and our chimpanzees sound?

Please note the minimum age for this experience is 16 years.

Highlights of this experience

  • Go behind the scenes and discover Monarto Safari Park’s off-limits areas
  • Assist our keepers in some of their daily tasks
  • Learn about our vitally-important conservation projects

Monarto Safari Park is home to more than 50 species of exotic and native mammals, birds and reptiles, and one of Australia’s largest lion prides and giraffe herds.

Almost 70% of the animals that call Monarto Safari Park home are threatened with extinction. Zoos SA manages world-renowned breeding and conservation programs both in our zoos and in the wild.

How your ticket helps our conservation efforts

By purchasing a ticket to one of our exhilarating encounters, you are not only supporting the incredible species in our care, you’re also helping us raise awareness and valuable funds to safeguard their wild cousins. Part of the income generated from our Animal Experiences contributes to the work Zoos SA does in support of a wide number of conservation programs both within and beyond our gates.
