NAIDOC celebrations are held around Australia each July to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. The theme for the 2019 NAIDOC Week celebrations is VOICE. TREATY. TRUTH; LET’S WORK TOGETHER FOR A SHARED FUTURE. Head to their website: www.naidoc.org.au for more information.

Join us these school holidays as we host our own celebrations!

Your child will be taken on a journey of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture, art and language through fun-filled activities, storytelling and live presentations. Kids can also create their own artwork by finding our Aboriginal art symbols scattered at each platform as they move around the zoo.

Don’t miss these special highlights:

Tal-Kin-Jeri Dance Group performance

11:00am Wednesday 17 July

Tal-Kin-jeri provide education and training to promote a better understanding of Aboriginal culture. They provide performance, workshops and ceremonies to showcase Aboriginal dance, stories, music, language and culture. Come along to see them perform and get your chance to join in!

All this is free for members and included with zoo entry!
